Commission Chairman Ford Overton proposed the meeting to offer Arkansans additional opportunity to voice any issues and have an open forum for public input into areas where the Commission should look deeper.
“We have strived to be as open and transparent as possible during my time on the Commission,” Overton said. “With Facebook, Twitter and social media in general, we are able to hear many more viewpoints, but we want to offer this opportunity for face-to-face contact as well to ensure everyone has a chance to speak about issues they may have.”
The meeting will have no particular agenda, only the opportunity for participants to speak freely about conservation, fishing, and hunting in The Natural State.
“I hope to have the auditorium full of people who want to speak,” Overton said. “We all hunt, fish and care about the outdoors and communication is key to keeping our resources available for the next generation.”
